Our Biggest Cake of the year so far !!

Not quite the 8 Tiers of Cake like Will & Kate’s but only 1 tier less, Yes a 7 tier Cake!! Made for the wedding of Stephanie and Andrew for their very big day at the lovely Great Hall at Mains.

7-tier-tiffany-wedding-cakeSteph was very clear about the design she wanted with the tiffany colour, lace work, Initials and supplied the Bride and Groom Topper herself.

I was delighted to get Stephanie's feedback on our Facebook page “we absolutely LOVED our cake thank you soo much, you did an absolutely fantastic job, very impressive” always nice to hear when you have done a good job!!

We also bumped into our friends Jane and Jason from Flower Design who were doing a fantastic job on the flowers and making the stunning venue which is the Great Hall even Better!!

Above is Jane busy away making a great job of the flowers and below some picture pinched from Jane’s blog of the big day and flowers.

Red Hall and Stirk House

2 lovely Cakes and very different cakes and at great venues. The first a Chocolate Ruffle style Cake was for Paul and Alex who had their wedding at the lovely Stirk House Hotel in Gisburn.

Happily the weather was great and looking at the great photos taken by Style Image photos they both had a fantastic Day!

The next cake (one of my favourites) was created and designed for Jessica and Ryan, who had their big day at Red Hall in Bury.

A very unusual and striking design and a brave choice!! but I personally love it. The fuchsia Pink on top of the jet black iced cakes really pops!! and the additional design feature of the individuals (used as favours for top table) really give it something different.

Hope both sets of brides and grooms had wonderful days they will remember for ever. We wish them all the best for their futures together and hope our contribution to the day lived up to expectations.

Our next update will be the 7 tier cake we will be delivering to the great hall at mains on Sunday, definitely not to be missed !!

Thanks for Looking

Calf’s Head Worston

A mid week Cake for a change, and it was for Steph and Andrew who had their Big day at the Lovely Calf’s Head in Worston, they picked a great day as the Weather was brilliant. Hope they liked their Cake a 3 tier hex angle Cake covered in a lot of blossom type flower with a lustre finish and a hint of Purple.

We also managed to have a play with a couple of new designs, as we have been asked to do table centre cakes by a couple, I think our Bauble cakes would be ideal for this and we also made some Chocolate Transfer Cakes that I think would look amazing for any setting and also eat great as dessert Cakes.

Buable-cakes-close-upindividual-Chocolate-transfer-cakesAnyway thanks for looking and as ever hope this give new brides and grooms plenty of ideas for their wedding.

Busy Week

4 wedding cakes in one week!! starting with one we made for our friends at Balloons by Design who had it produced for some of their friends, certainly beats buying a toaster!! hope the Bride and Groom appreciate Nicola’s efforts and all have a lovely Day. I think the understated petals design worked really well.

Thankfully Nicola picks up her cake as for the next part of our day for delivered 3 cakes.

The First was for Lynsay and Jason how had their wedding at Dunkenhalgh which as ever was looking stunning, The cake a little different using ivory and chocolate tiers under peach and gold rose was quite effective.

Straight after was delivery to West Tower Aughton in Ormstirk !! for Louise and Phil's Cake a 4 tier individual hearts cake with bride and groom topper.

I was very surprised to find a ITV film crew at the hotel and it turned out they where following the wedding for a feature for the Tonight programme on ITV so you may see us on Thursday night in the background!!

Hope they liked their Heart individuals

As you can imagine the venue was a hive of activity with suppliers busy everywhere and the film crew doing their best to get nice shots.

Creative cover hire where doing a great job of the styling and what seemed like hundreds of flowers where being carefully set up by Flower Style

I guess it won’t surprise anyone to find out my last delivery was to the Inn at Whitewell and no surprise to find out it was a Chocolate Cups wedding Desserts Cake, this one was for Emma and Dan I have included and picture but It was yet to have the flowers added, Margaret from Gilded Lily was just starting to get on with it when I left. If she dis as good a job as the table centres the cake was in safe hands

Hope all our Bride and Grooms all had brilliant days and I am sure the lovely weather would have been appreciated !!

Inn at Whitewell 9th April 2011

4-tier-chocolate-ruffle-and-gerberas-cake-inn-at-whitewellQuite a run of cakes at the Inn at Whitewell which is no surprise as it is just the prefect venue for a wedding. Todays Cake was for Emma and Sindair a very modern Chocolate Ruffle Cake with very brightly coloured Gerberas.

The weather was prefect as you can see by the lovely background behind the cake, I expect the photo’s will be amazing.

Flowers where by the Flower Shop in Clitheroe and not only did they look lovely, but they also matched the cake perfectly.

Here’s a couple more photo’s of the lovely flowers and a close up of the wedding cake and of course the venue!

2-tier-Draped-Roses-and-Lillies-wedding-cake-set-up-at-tempestBusy Weekend and got to deliver to some of the nicest wedding venues starting with the Tempest Arms at Elslack for the wedding of Andrea and James.

Lovely understated table decorations with the character of the open beamed room with the exposed stone just looked great.

Having just won Pub of the year a sure the food will be fab as well I am sure Andrea and James will have a fabulous day with their guests.

Hope they have a great day and like the sugar rose and lily covered cake we made for them and enjoyed the three favours Chocolate, Carrot and Sponge (extra cutting cake before you ask!)tempest-arm-set-up-for-wedding

3-tier-pink-heart-and-butterflies-wedding-cakeNext up was Mytton fold for a fab pink coloured Hearts and butterfly cake made for the wedding of Simon and Joanne.

Mitton-fold-table-set-up-for-weddingAs expected the crew at Mytton had done a lovely job of the room and everything looked stunning, it was still early but only final finishing was going on as organised as ever!

Sure the big day will go without a hitch, and hope they love their cake!!

Our final drop of the day was my old haunt The Inn at Whitewell for probably my favourite cake of the day a fun Passport and starfish cake with polka dots and cupcakes, made for Tracy and Ivan and even through the room was only just starting to big dressed I am sure their black and white theme will look excellent in the Inn’s Marquee and as for the background for the pictures just look behind their cake!! Hope all our bride have a great day and we are now off for little rest!! before starting on next weeks cakes!!
